So the required power of the transformer can be obtained by calculating it depending on two factors - the length of the tape that you have decided to mount, and a special factor that will be different for different led-tape. SMD 3528 on 60 diodes coefficient is 4.8, and it must be multiplied by the length you have measured, the result - the required power of the transformer. Coefficients of other strips are: SMD 5050 on 60 -7,2, SMD 3528 on 120 - 9,6, for SMD 5050 on 120 - 14,4. In calculations it is assumed that the 24 volt power supply will not be fully loaded, but only three-quarters of its capacity, so that the transformer lasted longer, was not noisy, and the LEDs did not burn out, do not spontaneously go out and emit a bright and stable light. A special category are adapters, resembling "chargers" made of black plastic with a wire and "plug" built into the housing. These surge suppressors and transformers are used to connect cables that do not require high power, namely no more than 18 watts, although they themselves are designed for 24, but the difference is the very reserve for reliable operation. In our store you can easily buy 24 volt power supplies as exterior and interior purposes. The first ones with sealed housings are designed for outdoor use, so they are protected from rain and dust. Most often, their place of installation are outdoors, pre-bath, facade, attic, pool, attic and kitchen, where the level of humidity is often high. Interior do not have to cope with the effects of bad weather, so they often have perforations in the casing. This is a way to ventilate the inside of the unit. Those 24 volt power supplies that do not have high power do not require a special heat sink, and so they are made in plastic housings.
